Edinburgh: A City Wander with Sights and Pints
A small group wander through Edinburgh with just enough facts to justify going back to the pub, and ticks 'tourism' off the list for your visit.
Highlights
- Enjoy a wander up Calton Hill for panoramic views and unfinished monuments
- Hear short stories and fun facts you might actually remember
- Pub stop included, because history goes down better with a drink
Description
We'll meet at the 'Center of Edinburgh' bollard then head up Calton Hill for views over the city (unless its raining, which it probably will be), see some half finished monuments, and hear a few facts worth remembering. From there, we'll cut through The Old Town, The Royal Mile and The Grassmarket, finishing up in Princes Street Gardens with a few pints (or coffee) along the way. Groups are small (max 4), plenty of sarcasm, the pace is relaxed and your guide is a real ginger Scot, what more could you want! Think less official tour guide, more a mate showing you around making it up as he goes along. Expect plenty of laughs and a few facts you'll actually remember. Disclaimer: If you're after exact dates, long timelines and flawless historical accuracy, I'm not the Dan for you. This tour is for a laugh, a wander, some sights and pints, with just enough history to tick the tourism box without putting you to sleep.Includes
One drink of your choice - pint, coffee, wine or soft drinkImportant Information
- This tour does involve a good amount of walking. You're coming to Scotland so bring some waterproofs, even in the summer!
