Description
Did you know you can experience the mountains of Scotland without having to drive all the way to the remote Highlands? Arthur’s Seat is a mountain in the middle of Edinburgh which offers panoramic views of the city, the sea, and the Highlands. From the end of the Royal Mile, we pass the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the Scottish Parliament before heading up the hill to the summit of Arthur's Seat (251 metres / 823 feet). We quickly leave behind the busy city, and immerse ourselves in the tranquil nature of Holyrook Park. Our route to the top of the hill largely avoids the crowded main path, allowing us to enjoy the views, plants, and wildlife as we go. There are plenty of chances to stop, admire the scenery, and take photos on the way. This small-group hike is led by a qualified Mountain Leader, who will set a very relaxed pace, highlight points of interest, and create an informal friendly atmosphere. A moderate level of fitness is required to complete this hike. It includes about 5 kilometres of walking and 250m of ascent.Includes
