A quick stop in a Highland town refreshes you for the journey ahead. Continuing north, you cross the vast Rannoch Moor and reach Glencoe, famous for its dramatic slopes and film appearances. Enjoy time here for photos. Next, you enter the Great Glen valley, passing beneath Ben Nevis, Britain’s tallest mountain, before arriving in Fort Augustus on Loch Ness. You'll have around one hour and a half here to search for the Loch Ness monster on a boat cruise,* stroll the loch's shores, or grab a bite to eat. Your return south takes you past Cairngorms National Park’s towering peaks and lush forests of Perthshire, with photo stops along the way. In Pitlochry, enjoy a final break before heading south through the rolling hills of Fife.
