Description

Embark on an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Scottish Highlands, from Edinburgh to Inverness. Head west to the Kelpies, the largest equine statues in the world. Take the opportunity to enjoy these two massive horse-head sculptures that celebrate Scotland’s myth and industry. Stop for refreshments in the charming town of Callander, before entering Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, a region of tranquil lochs and wooded hills that marks the gateway to the Lowlands. Enjoy the scenic drive and perhaps a short stop for photos or refreshments along the way. Travel onward through the dramatic landscape of Glencoe, a valley steeped in natural beauty and historic tragedy – the site of the 1692 massacre of Clan MacDonald. Your guide will share stories of the glen’s haunting past as you pass its towering peaks and sweeping vistas. Then, marvel at the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, an iconic railway bridge made famous by the Harry Potter films. Soak in views of Loch Shiel before heading deeper into the Highlands. Stop at the Commando Memorial near Spean Bridge for stunning views of the Nevis Range, home to Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest peak. This solemn site honors the WWII commandos who trained in this rugged region. Arrive in Inverness around 7 PM, having experienced some of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes and legends.
