Description
Set out on a journey through rolling countryside and along dramatic coastal roads as we venture south into England on this immersive small group day tour. Your adventure begins with a scenic drive across the border, leading you into the heart of Northumberland. Our first stop is the charming coastal village of Bamburgh, known for its peaceful charm and sweeping beach views. But don't let its quiet demeanor fool you - this was once the seat of the powerful Kings of Northumbria. Towering above the village is Bamburgh Castle, a dramatic fortress steeped in centuries of conflict and legend. Step onto the sandy shores and picture Viking ships making landfall as your guide brings the region’s fascinating past to life. In the afternoon, magic awaits at one of Britain’s most iconic landmarks - Alnwick Castle. Featured as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films, this magnificent structure is still a lived-in family home, having housed the Duke of Northumberland's family for more than 700 years. With its stunning medieval architecture and cinematic history, it’s a highlight for fans of history, film, and fantasy alike. As the sun begins to set, we cross back into Scotland, with captivating stories of border battles and ancient clans to accompany you. We return to Edinburgh by early evening, leaving you with memories of castles, coastline, and centuries of heritage.Includes
