Description

Escape the city and discover Scotland’s stunning east coast on this full-day adventure. Travel along the scenic Fife Coastal Route, where rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and epic wee seaside villages await. Your first stop is Anstruther, a traditional fishing village brimming with character. Stroll along the harbor, watch local boats unload their catch, and perhaps treat yourself to award-winning fish and chips. It’s the perfect spot to soak up authentic coastal life. Next, head to St Andrews, a town famous for its rich history and world-class golf. Here, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. Visit the ruins of St Andrews Cathedral and climb St Rule’s Tower for panoramic views, or step inside St Andrews Castle to uncover its fascinating past, including the notorious Bottle Dungeon. Golf enthusiasts can walk the legendary Old Course, the birthplace of the game. On the return journey, stop in Falkland, Scotland’s first conservation village. Wander through cobbled streets lined with beautifully restored cottages and visit Falkland Palace, once a royal residence. Fans of Outlander will recognise the village square from the show’s opening episode. Finally, cross the iconic Forth Bridge - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - before arriving back in Edinburgh in the early evening.
