Begin your tour at the Makars Mushroom Farm, located in a disused underground basement of an arts venue in Edinburgh. Discover the process of growing Lion’s Mane mushrooms, from grain production to incubation and fruiting. See the sterile conditions and techniques required to grow these exotic mushrooms reliably. Visit the fruiting tents and learn how to monitor factors like oxygen, water, and nutrients to ensure a successful crop. Discuss what to look for in the mushroom crop before harvest. • The tour is suitable for all interest levels, not just mushroom enthusiasts. The tour takes place in an underground basement, which may not be suitable for those with claustrophobia. There is no accessible access unfortunately. Parking: There is some street meter parking available but it is limited. Summerhall is easily walkable through the Meadows, bikes can be brought inside or locked in racks or bus. Lothian Bus routes serve Summerhall in Edinburgh. Routes 3, 5, 7, 8, 29, 31, 47, and 49 stop on South Clerk Street, which is a short walk from Summerhall. Routes 42 and 67 stop directly outside the venue's main entrance
