Description
Edinburgh Zoo, operated by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), spans 82 acres of sloping parkland and is home to over 2,500 animals from around the world. Visitors can encounter species such as Sumatran tigers, three penguin species, and meerkats. Look out for the famous King penguin, Sir Nils Olav.
The zoo also features a dinosaur walk-through exhibition that brings prehistoric creatures to life against the backdrop of Edinburgh. Facilities include children’s play areas, restaurants, and picnic spots. Daily keeper talks provide insights and fun facts about the animals.
