Description

Day One: Depart Edinburgh in the morning, picking up passengers in Glasgow before heading to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park for a comfort break. Continue north to Glencoe, known for its dramatic scenery and the 1692 MacDonald clan massacre.

Next, travel to Fort William for a loch-side lunch, then visit the Commando Memorial with views of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. Proceed to Loch Ness, stopping at Fort Augustus with its lochfront vistas. Time permitting, pause for photos at Urquhart Castle ruins. The day ends with arrival and overnight accommodation in Inverness.

Day Two: After breakfast, visit Culloden Battlefield, site of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s defeat. Explore Bronze Age burial site Clava Cairns, then take a photo stop at Carrbridge before entering Cairngorms National Park. Enjoy lunch by Loch Morlich and spot local wildlife.

Visit Ruthven Barracks, a former military garrison from post-Jacobite Rising times. On return to Edinburgh, there is an optional visit to Blair Athol Distillery for a tour and whisky tasting; if unavailable, explore Pitlochry instead. The journey finishes crossing the Queensferry Crossing before arriving back in Edinburgh.
