Description
Day 1: Depart Edinburgh and travel northwest, stopping at The Kelpies, large steel horse head sculptures. Lunch is taken at the driver-guide’s preferred location before continuing through rivers, lochs, and forests. Cross the remote Rannoch Moor, popular with photographers and nature lovers. Visit Glencoe to learn about its historical significance, then follow Loch Linnhe’s shore to overnight in Fort William.
Day 2: Drive from Fort William past Glenfinnan Viaduct, known for its railway curve and Jacobite monument. Arrive in Mallaig and take the ferry to southern Isle of Skye. Spend the afternoon exploring the Sleat Peninsula, including sites such as Glenbrittle waterfalls or the Cuillin Mountains near Elgol. Overnight stay is in the Lochalsh or Skye area.
Day 3: Explore famous Isle of Skye landmarks like the Quiraing, Old Man of Storr, and Neist Point. The guide selects the itinerary based on weather and local conditions to provide off-the-beaten-track photo opportunities. Return to overnight accommodation in the late afternoon.
Day 4: Visit Eilean Donan Castle before travelling south through Glen Shiel and past Loch Cluanie. View Ben Nevis and continue through the Monadhliath Mountains to the historic village of Dunkeld with its cathedral ruins. Return to Edinburgh via the Lowlands and Firth of Forth, arriving around 18:30.
Notes: Overnight stays are typically in Broadford on Skye between November and March. From October to April, the route includes Kyle of Lochalsh and crossing the Skye Bridge instead of the ferry.

Important Information
- Children under 5 years old are not permitted. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Accommodation consists of small guesthouses and B&Bs with en suite rooms, usually on town outskirts. Expect 20 to 30 minute walks to pubs and restaurants. Notify if you have mobility issues as lifts are not available.
- Luggage limit is 20kg (44lbs) per person, consisting of one suitcase approximately 55cm x 45cm x 25cm plus a small personal bag.
- Day 4 return is approximately 18:30.
