Description
Day 1: You leave Edinburgh and head north across the River Forth towards the Highlands. The journey passes through Highland Perthshire with a flexible stop at Pitlochry or the village of Dunkeld, depending on group interest.
This wild region features mountains, rivers, lochs, and wildlife hotspots. You will visit Aviemore, an outdoor activity centre, and enjoy local specialities before continuing to Loch Morlich, known for its unique landscape.
Next, visit Clava Cairns near Inverness, a site of ancient standing stones and ring cairns, made famous in the Outlander novels. The day ends with a short drive to Inverness where you check in to your accommodation. The evening is free to explore the city.
Day 2: After breakfast, you travel to the Loch Ness area for a boat trip on the loch and a visit to Urquhart Castle. Explore the castle and learn about its rich history.
The tour continues with a lunch stop in the Great Glen, where you can try local foods and enjoy peaceful walks. Heading south, the driver-guide takes you to locations tailored to group interests and weather, including Glen Coe, a valley steeped in history and natural beauty.
Further south, visit Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, known for steep mountains, shimmering lochs, and dense forests. You will also hear legends of Rob Roy. The tour returns to Edinburgh via Stirling, arriving around 19:00.

- The tour returns at approximately 19:00 on Day 2.
- Bring suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor activities.
- Accommodation is in small, locally-owned guesthouses or B&Bs with en suite rooms, usually on town outskirts. Expect a 20-30 minute walk to pubs and restaurants.
- If you have difficulty with stairs, notify the operator as lifts are not available.
- For two or more travellers, select the twin room shared option.
- Children under 5 are not permitted; minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Luggage is limited to 20 kilograms (44 lbs) per person: one carry-on sized bag plus a small personal bag.
