Warrender Swim Centre
Edinburgh
Historic Warrender Swim Centre, today is 126 years old, but is a very popular and unceasingly up-to-date fitness facility. Besides the five lanes of the 23 metre pool, on site there is a comprehensive state of the art gym and sauna for after a hard workout.
Built in 1887 as for an opulent Victorian private bath club, this pool was much more refined than its public cousins, and so despite being bought by the city easily survived to the present day. Where there were once billiard and reading rooms, there are now gym equipment and saunas. Many Olympic competitors have trained at these pools, and still maintains a high quality of standard despite of its age.
Unlike times gone by you can now drop-in for a swim, and membership is affordable. Swimming lessons and various fitness classes such as Aquafit are available, as well as gym-training classes for your landlubber friends. Everyone is truly welcome now at Warrender Swim Centre.
