Shebeen Bar & Braai is a South African bar and steakhouse, located just off Lothian Road in the City Centre. The restaurant is traditionally styled and offers the best authentic South African food in the city.
Shebeen sources all of it's produce from local farms and pride themselves in serving some of the most succulent steaks and meatiest burgers around. Shebeen have the perfect laid back and welcoming atmosphere, with the music and surroundings transporting Edinburgh locals and visitors out of the city and into the heart of South Africa's traditions and cuisine.
A wide selection of fresh, homemade dishes are available, specifically their well-matured beef which is mostly cooked on the Braai, ( a custom in South Africa, known as a barbecue or grill to our Edinburgh-dwellers) and offering many other traditional South African favourites such as Boerewors Sausage, Surf and Turf, Frikadelle (Meatballs) and Sosatie (Skewers) .
