Best City Views in City Centre

Local Recommendations from our My Guide Edinburgh team

Labelled as the Athens of the North, the 1 million people who have visited each year will have enjoyed the unrivalled panaramic views of our beautiful city.

Calton Hill and Holyrood Park are two major parks easily reached on foot, and both are favourites with tourists and locals alike. Whilst Calton Hill offers several monuments, Holyrood Park reflects a wee bit of the highlands right on Edinburgh's doorstep. A bit further south, Blackford Hill is a bit more peaceful and houses the Royal Observatory. With an abandoned quarry alongside a stream, this area is particularly beautiful and harmonious.
