Discover Scotland's Highlands on a spectacular adventure through its most awe inspiring spots. Enjoy views of Stirling Castle and the Wallace monument as you learn about their histories, and take part in traditional Scottish dancing at Oban. Learn about the history of Glencoe and visit a local whisky distillery before making your way to the stunning Isle of Skye. Visit ruined castles, immerse yourself in Celtic myths, and hear tales abound with fairies and fights as you hike through the beautiful landscape before you go monster hunting at the famous Loch Ness. Then take a drive throughout the north west Highlands, and discover the remnants of the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest. Go past the mountains of Cairngorms National Park, and visit Dunkeld before heading back to Edinburgh. Day 1: Edinburgh to Oban Head north from Edinburgh and take in the views of Stirling Castle and the Wallace monument as you hear fantastic tales of the real Braveheart. Enter Rob Roy country, and witness the landscape changes from Lowlands to Highlands before passing along Loch Awe and Kilchurn Castle. Spend the night at Oban and take part in traditional dancing at a ceilidh(traditional Gaelic social gathering). Day 2: Oban to Isle of Skye Stop at beautiful but eerie Glencoe, setting of the infamous 1692 massacre, before heading to the Glenfinnan monument. Visit a local whisky distillery in the shadow of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain, and make your way to the west coast to visit the magnificent Eilean Donan Castle perched on the shoreline and overlooking the sea. Cross the bridge and arrive in the Isle of Skye. Day 3: Isle of Skye Explore the 'Isle of Mist'', home to the legendary McLeod and MacDonald clans, with its ruined castles and awesome scenery. Hear tales abound with fairies and fights as you explore the windswept landscape and brooding Red and Black Cuillin Mountain ranges. Hike through the stunning environment before heading to Fort Augustus on the shore of Loch Ness. Day 4: Loch Ness and the Highlands Drive through the north west Highlands, and walk through the amazing landscapes with a local guide. Discover the remnants of the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest, see the ruins of Urquhart Castle, and enjoy the rest of the evening with a party at Fort Augustus. Day 5: Loch Ness to Edinburgh Hear the tales of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the tragedy of his defeat on the eerie moor of lonely Culloden Battlefield, the last major battle in Britain. Go past the mountains of the Caringorms National Park and through Perthshire. Take in the beauty of Dunkeld, its mighty cathedral, and pass the famous Forth Bridge before arriving back in Edinburgh.Includes
