The Edinburgh Festival, actually several festivals simultaneously, offers a vast array of entertainment. In Edinburgh you will always find something for yourself, whatever your taste.

August is the busiest month in Edinburgh. There are seven festivals, which take place around that time and the population doubles thanks to the large numbers of tourists visiting the Scottish capital. Despite the mainstream appeals that the Fringe and International Festival offer, Jazz lovers come for the Jazz and Blues Festival, authors and book worms arrive for the International Book Festival, artists for the Art Festival. The Military Tattoo at the Castle is not to be missed, nor is the Mela which closes the Festival. Oh and don't forget to play the local's game of collecting the most leaflets on the Royal mile!
